Innovative technology for everyone

AI for inclusion, diversity and social impact

Globally, the World Health Organisation estimates that more than 1 billion people, about 15 per cent of the world’s population, live with some form of disability. In several countries, the employment rate of persons with disabilities remains significantly lower than in the general population. For example, in the United States, the employment rate of people with disabilities is less than 30 per cent, while in developing countries the gap is even greater.

In Europe, data on the employment of people with disabilities show a situation similar to the global one. According to a report by the European Commission, in 2020, around 50.7 per cent of people with disabilities aged between 20 and 64 were employed, compared to 75.1 per cent of people without disabilities.

We believe in the power of generative artificial intelligence to improve accessibility and inclusion. With our artificial intelligence-based ai4Inclusion suite, which includes solutions such as ai4Sign and ai4Simplify, we have already started to help people with disabilities, enabling them to reduce the barriers they encounter on a daily basis.

The ai4Inclusion project was born to support the creation and development of artificial intelligence-based solutions that promote inclusion and reduce barriers in multiple domains, creating a positive, ethical and lasting social impact.

Through ai4Inclusion, companies, start-ups, associations and academia tap into a system of solutions to optimise activities supporting the inclusion of people with disabilities and specific disorders.
