Business Central migration for WKK Italy. An international quantum leap.

WKK Italy, part of an international group specializing in solutions for fastening, connecting, insulating and protecting cables and other objects, has undertaken with Cloudia Research an ambitious migration project from its previous ERP, to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This strategic move focused on aligning the Italian operations with the Dutch parent company, optimizing processes and improving operational efficiency.

 

Project Objectives

First, we set out to unify ERP systems at group level to facilitate data sharing, collaboration and process standardization. Next, we focused on automating and simplifying daily operations, from order management to accounting, to reduce lead times and manual errors.

Data is nowadays the greatest asset of a modern company. However, it is imperative to have access to them in real time and to be able to read them clearly in order to make timely and informed decisions. We therefore supported our client by increasing visibility and control over the company’s data.

Providing compliance with Italian tax regulations, thanks to our specific knowledge, was the final step that allowed us to complete the project to the client’s complete satisfaction.

Methodology and Tools
A structured project methodology was adopted to achieve these objectives:

  • Detailed mapping of business processes to identify areas for improvement and necessary configurations in Business Central.

  • Customization of Business Central according to the specific needs of WKK Italy, with particular attention to Italian taxation.

  • Delivery of targeted training sessions to ensure a quick and effective use of the new system.

  • Planning and execution of the transition to the new system, followed by a period of support to assist users in their daily use.

Results Achieved

The migration to Business Central represented a quantum leap for WKK Italy. By automating a large part of its business processes and drastically reducing task execution times, the company has seen a significant increase in operational efficiency. In addition, the standardization of processes has led to a reduction in manual errors, ensuring more accurate data.

With real-time access to precise and up-to-date information, WKK Italy’s decision-makers can now have complete visibility of the company’s performance, facilitating strategic decision-making. Another important benefit is full compliance with Italian tax regulations, ensured by the specific system configurations we have implemented.
Finally, the alignment with the ERP system of the Dutch parent company has strengthened the collaboration between the branches, optimising information flows and facilitating the management of group-wide operations.
